Who to invite to a bucks party?

There is one thing that a best man can do right when planning a bucks party: go along with the groom’s guest list. You can ignore pretty much all his requests but not his guest list.  You still don’t want to get stuck with grandpa Paul who is just full of Word War II stories or that weird uncle who drinks too much and thinks he is Tom Jones’ when he’s had a couple of whiskeys down his throat. So, you might still want to help your friend with the guest list, especially if you know his family and you’ve known the same people all your lives. It’s a stag party, so you won’t to keep the list small. Invite the regular guys he is right with and then include: an old school friend, a friend from work, brothers, cousins, etc and at least one guy who is a teetotaler.

There is no doubt that these get-togethers bring out a lot of nostalgia and that is what the school friends are there for. They’ll have some stories you are not likely to know unless you were there during his schooldays. They may have been pranksters in their childhood, hopefully, they have outgrown that and they won’t be pranking the groom unless it’s part of the plan.

The Workmate

Invite his favourite workmate. This is the guy who knows how he spends the majority of the day. He shares the same career issues, probably have the same political ideologies and they both know Janice from Accounting and her incredible chest. Make the bucks party Melbourne epic, and he becomes a legend around the office water cooler. Just make the work mate does not bring any stories about work. No one wants to know about sales figures or whatever your friend does whilst they are watching some incredible strippers on the pole.

The Teetotaller

Everybody wants to have a good time at a bucks party Melbourne and drinking is a big part of the night. The longer people drink and party, the harder it will be to control them or to dictate what should be happening. The plan can devolve quickly, so will morals. Having someone who doesn’t touch alcohol can be handy. He will be able to remind everyone about the plan and coral them back out, so everyone can move to the next destination. A teetotaler means you have a coherent communicator, ambassador and negotiator when you need one.

Relatives

You might have to invite brothers and cousins and sometimes quirky uncles will make the list. Have a pre-parry dinner and drinks before you head out. This way you can get a sense of who everybody is and how comfortable they are in the group.

Last but not least, do not forget the groom. This may sound dumb but there have been instances where people forget what the whole point of the plan was. The groom is the central figure here. He plays a big role in everything so, make sure he is having a good time. But then again, there’s that torture element that every bucks party has. A bucks party without humiliating pranks is boring. Do it, prank him, he knows it will happen, he hopes it won’t be too bad but trusts that you the best man will keep him safe.
